A sneak peek at they boys...

I feel peer pressured to post cute headless shots of the boys, so you can admire the chub and cuteness.  I've covered their faces since we can't legally post photos until "Gotcha day".  Unfortunately I'm not savvy enough to figure out how to lop off their heads, so I just blurred them out.  It really is sad when your computer is smarter than you are ~sigh~.

Here they are...

Go ahead... "Awwwww,  how cute!" You know you want to!!

At least one good thing is coming from the delayed court date.  I won't have to sweat the FBI clearances for another eight weeks or so.  Gotta find the silver lining in every cloud, right?  Listen up FBI people, you better get busy.  Don't make me call in my local Senator or Congressman!  (I'm just kidding FBI people, don't come after me or "lose" my application, okay?)

BTW, does anyone know if you can stuff two car seats and a booster in the back seat of a Toyota Highlander?  If you can't, how do you get a four and a half year old to buckle his own seat belt?  I ask because if I have to stuff him in the "way back" third row seating, how in the world am I supposed to reach to buckle him in?  There would definitely be some exposure of muffin top and underwear and my neighbors might complain.  I suppose I could always strap him to the top of the car, but that seems a bit extreme, don't you think?

Let me know what you do with your many small children.  And I don't want to hear anyone say the word "minivan".  It will NOT happen.

  1. What you need is a wood paneled station wagon like they had on The Brady Bunch...I mean, they even fit Alice and the dog in that thing.

Even blurry, those boys are beautiful!! Congratulations!

  2. i'm thinking it's time to start practicing seatbelt buckling! this took a couple weeks of practice for us and more than a few tears but if you start now he'll have it down by then no problem!

  3. I think that heavy duty treat management is helpful--you know, "WOW! that is AMAZING! I think you deserve a whole bunch of goldfish crackers for buckling that seat belt all by yourself--that's just SUPER baby!"--or some other wonderful treat. Our first son got pretty good pretty fast once we worked on it for a while...and as long as you don't mind all sorts of food caked all over the carseat, child, floor, etc, it's a real relief. We just made a point of telling him how important it was for us to hear "the click of safety", and we'd acknowledge that he did it and then check. THanks for letting me look on as you blog your way through the process; We're hoping to get our dossier into CSS in the next 1-2 weeks (currently in the notarizing, certifying phase!)and it's so good to see how things have progessed/are progressing for you!

  4. Look at the Radeon Sunshine Kids car seats. They are made of steel instead of plastic, and are therefore much narrower. We have them for our smaller car. Can't wait to see their faces! Lori

  6. a four and a half year old CAN buckle a seat belt. 3 kids under the age of ten CANNOT keep their hands to themselves, so you might decide a LARGE van is pretty sweet in a few years! (my dream car? an old limo so I can close that little window, separating the driver from the passengers..... and you thought it was for the privacy of the occupants, not the sanity of the driver?!
